|---|
In early March 2007, BAB facilitated an exposure visit to Manila in the Philippines. Representatives from 2 Malaysian Universities attended. 2 Professors and 4 students from UM (University Malaya) and 2 Professors and 2 students from UiTM . The purpose of the visit was to expose these representatives to CLE programs throughout the Philippines, including visiting the CLE program at Ateneo Law School and the Ateneo Human Rights Centre. The participants were shown the growth of the programs, exposed to the challenges that occurred along the way and shown how the program now runs very successfully. The participants also visited SALIGAN, which is a social justice legal NGO operating throughout the Philippines. In addition to its university based clinical legal education work, BAB has been involved in educational support for grassroots paralegal, community legal advisor/advocate programs. |
